3 steps needed to start using laptop instead of 2 steps before

Before the the OS update from around 10 days ago, I just needed to complete 2 steps before starting using my Librem:

  1. enter the data encryption password
  2. enter my account password

After the latest OS update another step was added just when the system starts booting
0. “Attempting to decrypt master key…
Enter passphrase for hd0,msdos2 (70830d884db[…]):”

If I don’t do anything after this step 0, the startup process stops. To move to step 1, I just need to press Enter.

Does anybody else have the same issue? Is there a fix?

I saw it a couple of times too, but then it stopped, perhaps after the latest updates.

I just did a sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade, and restarted the computer. But the laptop still stalls right after restart with the message
“Attempting to decrypt master key…
Enter passphrase for hd0,msdos2 (70830d884db[…]):”

Anybody else has this (minor) issue?

Also, please try the suggestions here: On boot LVM is asking the same password twice
