Actual staffing for the L5 project

I hope the staffing level is at least one… it has been awfully quiet lately.

I think it was already fairly obvious that Purism’s active development on Librem 5 had largely stalled. However, Purism has provided an awesome promise: 100% of PureOS subscription money will go toward development of PureOS.

So, if we want development on PureOS for the Librem 5, it really is up to us. The opportunity is there if we value it enough.

Here’s the link on how to subscribe to PureOS development, for those interested (I subscribe!):

Hello @jonathon.hall

Yep, I’m full-time at Purism. I know I have several other things marked unread in the forums to reply to, just trying to keep all projects moving.

And I did push a branch of librem5-base that should fix that audio issue, but I haven’t tested it yet as I was at the airport at the time and did not have my development L5s with me.

I wonder how many other countries have people that say the same thing about L5’s country of origin. We believe what our own country tells us about “state actor” etcetera.

But it would be interesting to know staffing and ETA’s for L%

I was sitting here trying to figure out what “L%” is. And then I looked at the 5 on my keyboard…

What will it cost Purism in sales when the ads are changed to reflect $upport of upgrades of apps and Pure Operating $ystem?

The Librem 5 advertisement says:

The Librem 5 represents the opportunity for you to take back control and protect your private information, your digital life through free and open source software, open governance, and transparency.

the same ad includes:

The Librem 5 is a phone built on PureOS, a fully free, ethical and open-source operating system.

Is there a way to charge more for the L5 in one way or another that gets around the ads?

The Librem 5 pricing was already changed multiple times throughout its (crowdfunding campaign) history.

If I understand you correctly, the word “free” is only a problem in the advertisement if a person misinterprets the meaning of “free” in that context. As discussed at length in other parts of the forum, you seem to deliberately persevere in your particular misinterpretation of that word given the particular context.

Free as in freedom, not free as in costless. This is a fundamental principle of the Free Software movement.

To answer your that, You don’t understand me correctly.

This term confirm that Sharon is right about.
Even worse L5, L14.L11 is under this evil term, of course i know this term meaning and i am really sad. = (
Also i tremble with fear when someone says Linux,FOSS,FLOSS as it is a fancy name-boulevard for a Jail.
