I did “brick” my laptop by having it–in a case–on top of rolling luggage, which tipped over. The handle of the rolling case was tucked through the handle of the laptop case, which should have blunted the fall, but…it was dead.
I figured out later, after returning from the trip, that the memory board had come loose in the shock of a relatively minor (and padded) fall.
Other than that, I agree with the observations here. It feels bombproof.
