Byzantium backports unofficial

I try to save the most important things in the readme, so you could check it one more time

So I ran systemctl --user disable wireplumber.service(first command to solve the sound)
and I got

‘Failed to connect oto bus: No medium found’

systemctl status → degraded, systemctl --failed → systemd-networkd->wait-online.service loaded failed failed Wait for Network.

I do have network connected.

Try to run the second command to enable wireplumber in videoonly mode and check which sound server is used (pactl info).

Ooops, I have the same status but no issues with sound. I will pay attention to this, thanks for reporting.

so running the 2nd command worked, after that, I run the 3 command again. I have the sound now.

There is another problem. The Pure Store except the main page, other category page won’t show any apps. Do you have that problem?

That is normal behavior. The store is just bad. There are other threads about that mess.

My advice is not use Pure Store as it is quite obsoleted. I also remove it from autostart list (recipe could). You could use flatpak directly in a terminal (with flathub repo).

Hopefully they can update in the crimson. It has been a whole

Can you share the exact command you used to install these packages?

Just sudo apt install systemd-resolved in a terminal. You can install all of them in one line:

sudo apt install systemd-container systemd-resolved phosh-plugins pureos-theme-gnome pureos-artwork-base kbd

When I do that, it says something like ‘unable to find package kdb

Sorry, the right name is kbd.

$ apt list | grep kbd

kbd/byzantium,now 2.3.0-3 arm64 [installed,automatic]

Yeah, that is what I did. I tried many times, all worked. But I have to say, it is a bit more lag than the byzantium ha, but I don’t care I think.

Do you still want lists of files that are about to be removed [as per git instructions] or is this irrelevant…?

Thanks!

libfolks-eds25 and libgnome-desktop-3-19 should be upgraded to libfolks-eds26 and libgnome-desktop-3-20t64 respectively. You could try to install it first:

sudo apt install libfolks-eds26 libgnome-desktop-3-20t64

Btw. have you considered securing your repo? See: SecureApt - Debian Wiki

Setting up a secure apt repository: from man apt-secure

If you want to provide archive signatures in an archive under your maintenance you have to:

  • Create a toplevel Release file. if it does not exist already. You can do this by running apt-ftparchive release (provided inftp apt-utils).
  • Sign it. You can do this by running gpg -abs -o Release.gpg Release.
  • *Publish the key fingerprint, that way your users will know what key they need to import in order to authenticate the files in the archive. *

Whenever the contents of the archive changes (new packages are added or removed) the archive maintainer has to follow the first two steps previously outlined.

Thanks. Will try after Codeberg is back in a minute…

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libfolks25 : Depends: folks-common (= 0.14.0-1) but 0.15.9-2 is to be installed
libgnome-desktop-3-19 : Depends: gnome-desktop3-data (< 3.39) but 44.0-5 is to be installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

Thanks for the link! Do you think it matters? I may try for Crimson backports…

Ay, I think it does - and it is good practice to do so! It is also a balance with the work you do and the kind of audience you have with the users of L5.

The main trick is to understand who needs libfolks25 and try to install (upgrade) it by the same command. I thought it was Chatty
