Can I use AweSim worldwide? (And another question...)

I’m rather intrigued by the Librem AweSIM, as somebody whose as
privacy-conscious.

However I don’t live in the USA so buying one for myself seems out of the question. Although I do regularly have trips to the States So…

Could I still order an AweSIM, have it delivered wherever I’m staying
while I’m in the States then bring it back home with me abroad
and still be able to use it?

Furthermore, do the devs accept cryptocurrency payments whenever I buy anything?

No, AweSIM does not support roaming.

Yes, the Purism webshop uses Coinbase as a third-party integration for cryptocurrency payments.

Purism does intend to, but there are challenges:

At the moment the plan is only within the US. We will look into expanding into other countries based on demand and our ability to do so while retaining customer privacy (from what I’ve heard, some countries require that a customer’s full name and contact information be registered with a particular number and registering a number in Purism’s name wouldn’t be allowed, I assume so citizens are easier to track by law enforcement).

Availability in Canada

Another angle would be roaming. I have a feeling (disclaimers apply) that with the original US-based provider, calls would have worked in Canada via roaming. However the Purism web site appears to have been updated to rule that out, and that could be a consequence of changing providers.
