Sorry I missed your reply as well, but the problem was actually solved, I will elaborate on that in another post. But thank you for your help!

I just wanted to post here that the problem was solved on my end. I am not sure why and how this happened, but after the last update I decided to give it a go at installing these packages again because maybe the problem was solved, and I was pleased to see that it was! 
In case you have followed the whole thread, I just want to make it clear that I am not using the Debian mirror anymore, so the problem really seems to be solved.
But either way, thank you everyone for the help!
