Interesting, libhybris, android bootloader, and bin-blob drek, but still an attempt to get out form under social media doomscrolling is interesting from a sociology standpoint. Facebook is responsible for burma killing fields, and breaking up community in the US and across the world. This is a very small voluntary nail in Russia, China, Quatar, and even the US’s online propaganda work.

Most Linux hair on a lobotomized LineageOS base install(Jolla/Sailfish) have tethering now AFAIK. I do love sailfish, the last remnant of my beloved Maemo from the N900 and other Nokia Linux lab devices I just hate libhybris. I will also go as far as to say I prefer full LineageOS over a libhybris device. But I think having a generalized linux install makes much of the kill and block software easier while still having good battery and a fast clean apk running environment.

They certainly didn’t. On the contrary, they de-Googled the phone.
There are two ways to install Android apps, one is via sideloading and another via the curated Commodore store, to which you can submit a request for a specific app to be added.

Why would you prefer LineageOS over a libhybris device???
1 - Not a fully developed opinion.
2 - If I am already giving up so much already I might lean toward the convenience of a top to bottom mostly open Android microg/fdroid build vs the more buggy libhybris. Libhybris seems to contain more weakness of both it is why I dipped on early Ubuntu Touch for Cyanogen and then LineageOS on a Nexus 7.
Big news to me on Commodore phone it is the enablemnents of Sailfish-FM, this feature was exclusive for Jolla C.

There were/are community-ported SFOS devices that had FM radio. Well, at least one that I know of personally, that was the OPX.

Okay, you’re not referring to actual FM at all, are you? To what are you referring? I don’t think I know what it is, and I really do try to keep up.
Media Sailfish-FM native built-in interface, which it is the best on the world IMHO.
But PirateFM from kimmoli is super incredible also it is a reverse engeenering from media-sailfishfm.
Now media-sailfish-fm it is on opensource list, not free software but still good as enable native fm.
So if I understand you correctly, you’re referring to a GUI that sits in front of, and lets you listen to, the built-in FM radio. Right?

So the old Maemo5 Linux Nokia N900 had a FM broadcast band transmitter which could be tweaked a bit to have a pretty great transmit power, I loved it when car rentals didn’t all come with good music playback bluetooth.
Later the N900’s bluetooth module which had hardware FM receive in the datasheet got a hacked driver so we could receive too especially with headphones plugged in becoming an antenna gave a pretty good reception.
I am assuming that we are talking about being able to receive FM broadcast radio with the Commodore classic and apparently that has an especially good GUI??
I can say that the N900 had a very usable GUI for the transmitter which appeared in the notification tray when active where you could adjust to an open frequency, the radio Receiver I guess had an pretty great GUI too. Not sure what makes for a great or especially notable GUI for a radio receiver, I guess I like the especially techy GUI for GQRX which lets you receive from HF-microwaves in just about any mode and has a waterfall display of nearby bandwith actvity though that fun complicated GUI reflects how much more you can do with a SDR than with a simple swype and press-hold to save a station from 87-108MHz wide-FM.
I searched on the Jolla/Sailfish KB here Core Areas and APIs | Sailfish OS Documentation but found nothing about the special GUI for FM radio neither RX nor TX.

I still have 2 N900 waiting for Maemo Excalibur release, but to be honest i really like motorola droid 4 than.
So i guess it will ship the super-fancy sailfish-fm-app, but also commodere phone will ship a discrete DAC.
Commodere phone it is a interesting device to get back our happiness.

What Sailfish version is it on photo?
As the ambience it is same color as gui you cant see the hologram magic at full, so if you want the ambience you need to recontrast the sailfish-silica-color.
I liked black background-ambience with amber color then hologram silica at full
It still boots! It was SFOS 2.1.0.11. I had to abandon the OPX around that time (late 2016) because its supported 3G bands didn’t mesh very well with US carriers (2G was being retired) and calls were getting pretty tedious. Got my Xperia X not much later, almost the exact same shape and size, and used it till the 3G shutdown.
