Given that in 2019 the average person spent 144 minutes on social media (https://www.statista.com/statistics/433871/daily-social-media-usage-worldwide/) that number sounds pretty solid to me.

You seem like a highly intelligent person and I am sure your current alternative list will be appreciated by many.
However as my name implies, Not affording is not synonymous with not buying. I purchased my spot in the cue from a company whose products I have experienced and trust.
As this is a public forum I will refrain from melting any snowflakes by any futile attempt to explain the mechanics of balancing loss of comfort with delayed gratification.
