esim.me licenses - Which one should I buy?

The main difference between the three options seems to be the number of eSIMs each can hold. So it’s up to you to decide how many you need to be in use at once, e.g. U.S. only, North America only, EU only, all of Europe only, Asia only, Australia only, individual countries only, and so on. How much do you travel across borders?

Of course, you can always delete an eSIM profile that you don’t need, in order to make more space on the card.

Note that you might not need to use their proprietary app from Google. There’s a FOSS app on F-Droid called “JMP SIM Manager,” that will likely work. I use an eSIM adapter from JMP that is really just a rebranded eSIM. me card, and I manage it with the JMP SIM Manager app on degoogled Android.

My particular Android is older, and that necessitates inserting the card into a small USB SIM reader/writer (connected to the Android) to activate, switch, or delete eSIMs from the provider. I can’t manage it directly from the phone’s settings. (With some phones, it’s possible.)

For the Librem 5, you might have to set the eSIM up on another phone, or computer, rather than manage it directly on the L5.

EDIT: There’s an open source eSIM manager project for Linux computers that some people use, but I haven’t tried it seriously yet.
