How about setting your home page to blank and using the search bar (not the URL bar) configured with the startpage engine as the first choice? I use it this way and I never see any of the add banners you complain about. It’s a new search instance each time, with no history and that does not remember you.
Now of course, if you want to keep some personal setting, you have to accept cookies and be recognized every time as unique.
