HEVC/H.265 video editing on Librem 14

I’ve been trying to edit some HEVC/H.265 video clips in Kdenlive on Librem 14. It is really slow: you move the monitor playhead and wait a few seconds for the picture to update.

Intel UHD Graphics 620 appears to support “H.265/HEVC Main 10 Profile”. Is there any way to make Kdenlive (or any other video editor for Linux) utilize the available hardware acceleration?

What were you expecting? Intel iGPU chips are very weak. If you want to edit videos you need to get something that has AMD or nVidia GPU.
