How, NOT SLIDE, do we remove the back plate/cover

The video in “Librem 5 Disassembly” shows the guy turning phone over, and easy-peasy just slides the back cover off. Must be the hard part.
QUESTION:
The instructions (text version) to remove the back says:

Pull off the back cover.

HOW?

I’ve personally adopted this method since I cracked the original back case after several openings:

  1. Pull back the notch enough to get my fingernail under the un-notched section.
  2. Run my fingernail around the back cover with my fingernail under the plastic case to release all the clips holding it

It’s worth noting that Purism replaced the back cover for free which was nice.

I have a whale bone ‘boner’. Dry cleaners use to use them. Won’t scratch or mar anything. I use it like a fingernail. Sicne January, I’ve biten off my nails :slight_smile:
I just hate instructions that get near then and say something like 'and follow the tip on page 121 and there is no page 121.

I’ve noticed a short drop often gets it open.

:crazy_face: I was going to be silly and mark it as a solution - but someone might try it. But I have often considered it as a fix for a variety of things.
