How to make a app icon for phosh

How do you join that room? I’d like to hop in but have literally never used Matrix before.

Well if you never used matrix here is a small starter guide.

https://docs.puri.sm/Librem_One/PureOS/Chat.html

If you register for a matrix account at one of several providers;

librem.one hosted by Purism is one

element.io is another

Also if you register with element.io in that tutorial you do not need to change the homeserver address.

the room address is: #mobian:matrix.org but their room also exists in IRC

The default folders are /usr/share/icons for system wide or /home/purism/.local/share/icons/ for purism user only, usually if you’ve got a single user it’s fine to use the user one, the problem is if you’ve got a multi-user system the other ones won’t be able to see the icons.

I’m not sure it’s posh. Ubuntu 20.04 has problems with custom launcher items and MenuLibrem as well. May be a deb problem? (in Ubuntu 18.04 all was ok)

What kind of problems? I have a custom .desktop file and icon on my launcher and it works. I also have customized versions of the .desktop file for a couple of standard applications on my launcher and that works too. I remember that there didn’t seem to be a clear and simple procedure for setting that up - but with enough stuffing around, I got it working and it has stayed working.

see: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1265399/cannot-launch-python3-script-using-desktop-file-in-ubuntu-20-04
Also Menulibre doesn’t install with:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:menulibre-dev/daily
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install menulibre

Makes me wonder, what happened to old Windoze .ico files?
