Librem 13 v4 - PureOS - Wifi disconnects

#1

Hi,

I’ve been having issues with my laptop regularly losing Wi-Fi connectivity over past few weeks. I’m not too sure how best to begin investigating this issue. I found a previous post on the forum that was similar to my issue, but not the same(sorry, I can’t find it right now). There was a recommendation to grep the syslog for the device name and provide the output. Below is a sample output from doing so.

Is anyone able to provide some guidance, please? It seems to be something to do with WPA supplicant. Net searches seem to keep referring to a “wpa_supplicant.conf” file, which doesn’t exist on my system. I have VMware Workstation installed which will be the references to virtual networks in the log output below. I’m pretty sure the WiFi issues started before I installed Workstation.

#2

Are you using PureOS or some other GNU/Linux?

#3

I’m running PureOS on a Librem 13v4. I mistakenly put librem 15 in the title.

#4

Since removing a couple of virtual networks created during the VMware Workstation installation I’ve not had any network issues. Although I’ve not done a lot of testing.

I have noticed that I’m no longer seeing any “wpa_supplicant[1507]: wlp1s0: CTRL-EVENT-BEACON-LOSS” entries in my syslog, which I take to be a good thing.
