Librem 5 heat sink compund best practices on screen replacement

I have replaced my screen (well up to the reassembly stage)

Thoughts so far, I think the directions could better emphasise the need to do disassemble before starting the screen removal.

But on to my question, as I have now had to out the mother board the CPU heat sync is not open, and I am not sure about the blue play-do like heat sync past and how reapply it.
Or would it be better to replace, and can it be replaced with the old fashion white lithium stuff, or more standard arctic Silver CPU paste.

You alls advice would be helpful.
