A USB-C Librem Key may be nicer but you should be able to use a tiny adapter (USB-A to USB-C) rather than a dock. The adapter could sit ‘permanently’ attached to the Key if you were mostly using the Key on devices that support USB-C. Poor man’s USB-C Librem Key.
