ok good to know

is there any list of candidate?

That’s the only information found : https://puri.sm/posts/librem5-progress-report-21/
“Since the modem used on the actual phone may be different from that of the dev kits, some initial testing has begun on the Gemalto PLS8 modems.”

So Simcom, Gemalto,… ?
Dual or not dual sim, I try to found this information somewhere.

I really understood that, since there was an error in the design and consumed too much battery, the dev kit was organized with another brand of modem but the modem will always be the simcom.

https://puri.sm/posts/2018-devkits-are-shipping/
in the photo of the devkit there is in fact the simcom modem because I remember explained that, since the devkit is always connected to the mains, there is no problem with the battery

So, any news so far about an alternative modem that can actually works on Australian LTE bands? I refer in the specific to the band 28, the main Telstra/Optus country side band.
