PureOS Crimson Development Report: May 2025

Dear Dos, please could you suggest Purism to give to PureOS same Debian number so to avoid confusion?
Do you think it’d be a good idea? :slightly_smiling_face:
Thank you

My sd card on the librem5 just crashed. I used it to outsource flatpak and waydroid from the small sd card. I think I will have to reinstall pureos any day from now. I am now thinking if I might give Crimson but from what I understand LUKS and the GPG-decryption is not yet ready - or am I mistaken? I don’t mind if the rest of the experience is a little beta.

See here how PureOS versions relate to Debian versions:

Thank you!
Hope they’ll align the two

From the OP:

We have both encrypted and plain images

I haven’t verified that but that’s what it says, so it may be worth your while looking into it to see whether that part of it has been checked off.

Edit: Looks as if I got the wrong end of the stick here. Probably disregard this post.

https://storage.puri.sm/librem5/images/crimson/latest/librem5r4/
does not include the luks image and the last image is from january.

You are looking at the wrong place. This time you’d have to build your own as images are not provided, by following these steppes: Files · master · PureOS / Infrastructure / pureos-image-recipes · GitLab
There are some limitations, the bottom text (" Not implemented for arm64.") seems to suggest that flash and LUKS are not implemented for L5 (yet).

is there a simple install instruction?

It’s just that linked page and those instructions. This is still developer level stuff, not for general testing (alpha version etc. comes later).
