Quess (anonymously), when do you think PureOS Dawn will be released?

  • Fall 2026 (Sep-Oct)
  • Later in 2026 (Nov-Dec)
  • Winter 2027 (Jan-Feb)
  • Spring 2027 (March-May)
  • Summer 2027 (June-Aug)
  • Latter part of 2027 (Sep-Dec)
  • First half of 2028 (Jan-Jun)
  • When Debian versions near EOL again

I like that there are at least these progress reports but I’m kinda hoping this lag was just due to summer and the blog schedule will be soon fixed by about four weeks (July report this week). Or just rename the blog post “June + July”.

What does “released” mean? First alpha (reflash)? Beta (reflash)? In place upgrade available for early adopters? Formal release (e.g. new phones come with dawn and upgrade is offered automatically to all existing phones)?

Released as in: PureOS Development Report: May 2026 – Purism (the step after/when release candidate has been approved for release - the “new phones come with” step may come after that).
