Purism & Pine64 Have A Roadblock To The Success of Linux Phones

A thought regarding the on-ramp:
I’m relatively new to the Linux space, but I’ve been getting familiar with PureOS on a cheap spare PC… so that I know how it works once I’m able to afford the actual phone. I can solidly recommend that as a potential on-ramp for others… Try just the OS on a spare cheap old laptop or something. The phone is allegedly just a shrunk down desktop OS, so I’ll have 100x more familiarity with the ecosystem when I get my phone than the newbies coming straight from Windows.

Good call, the great thing about linux is it will run on just about anything so you can dumpster dive the e-waste bin and find something that will run it…I could be speaking from experience…you’d be amazed how much a telco sends to ewaste. I snap up the laptop batteries for those 18650’s so I can build a power source for my deflector shield…
