Man! That is one annoying website. (Aurora)
Maybe Mr. Hanky can reach out?
“Kyle? … Kyyyle!”
Is it weird that I found myself reading that Aurora website, and on the front page it says:
The Aurora Driver runs on a robust, proprietary computer that enables powerful software
It’s a curiously different direction than working at Purism to describe a “proprietary computer” as a selling point.
Yes, I agree that it is a different direction. Still employed on the proprietary HP3000 myself. They have their uses.
Kyle left another comment on Mastodon expressing his appreciation for this thread. He can’t login with his forum account anymore but this is what he said:
I ended up checking in on the thread you linked there. I really appreciate all the kind words people shared in the thread. Unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to login to my old forum account anymore (I imagine it was part of an employee account clean up at some point) so I can’t share my appreciation directly, but hopefully someone from that thread will see this and know that their kind words really meant a lot.
Of course it would be quite impossible for him just to create another account …
Well, Purism [in some ads] is all about privacy and security. This is totally speaking without much knowledge of Kyle Rankin, but if I was a guy like that I would probably make a new Purism forum account without telling people.
So, one of the other folks already active on this thread is probably Kyle. He’s probably just messing with us and is active on Purism forums. Why not?
Nobody here is obligated to self-declare who they are, are they?
That is certainly possible but, for the purposes of this topic, readers would have to be convinced that the person making the post is the RealKyleRankin.
And likewise in response to:
What if Kaz was Kyle in discguise?
