I was entering the proper user name and it wasn’t working. I ended up just downloading pure OS 8 live onto a flash drive and just reinstalled everything then updated everything with the sudo command. The problem is that now when I installed it I screwed up and it didn’t encrypt the drive. Now I’m trying to figure out how to do that without having to reinstall everything the right way. I guess I shouldn’t be trying to read small print in between cataract surgeries.
