RYF L5 approval, ME progress reports?

TBH you made a fair point, which I didn’t think about because luckily everything keeps working fine.
On the other hand I might even be able to repair it by myself, since over the years and years of the hardware becoming outdated it also will have been more and more reversed, and all nitty-gritty details of any repair imaginable will have been written down on the Internet.
We’re not yet there, but if it keeps working for another 5 years, then maybe…?

On the danger of becoming too philosophical: In theory it would be extremely nice if we only owned hardware as complex as we can understand (and repair) it

In a practical way I would likely buy one of the older Librem notebooks then.
And after 15 more years try to find a then-vintage Librem 14, hopefully never used so it has its full 10 years of lifespan, but I think I would never want to buy a Librem 14 V354 in that case.
Though I would perhaps donate Purism half the price of a Librem 14 V354 then, so they at least don’t suffer by my anti-economical behavior…

Btw. I know that my MacBook Pro isn’t exactly the best example here. But that’s what my parents gave to me after they had no use, so I certainly couldn’t say “no, it’s not free/ethical enough”
