Here is a small update on tweaking Gnome. I recently realised my desktop files/folders were not visible. This is apparently dues to an update of Gnome which now requires a Gnome extension to be installed to view the Desktop icons.
The default icons not being very exciting, I also decided to update them, although ppa installation failed and I had to install manually.
