This is closer to working now. In PureOS byzantium the libqmi and modemmanager (thanks to @craftyguy for upstreaming!) fixes are there by default now, so to receive MMS we only need @kop316 's versions of mmsd (now called mmsd-tng) and purple-mm-sms. Here are all steps needed to make receiving MMS work on PureOS byzantium on the Librem 5 now (at least this works for me)
