I’m so stoked about having a complete Linux ecosystem I’m finally tweaking my OS settings getting ready for when I get my device in hand. I’m a KDE fan so I’m finally syncing caldav/carddav with my personal webhost. I considered Nextcloud as well but we’ll see how things go with the basics first. For years even though being a linux fan I’ve still been living in a windows 7 laptop with an apple iphone 6s plus world. I’m ready to work through all the little quirks and hiccups to move Linux into a place where it belongs; amongst Apple iPads and iPhones and Android tablets, phablets, and phones
I’ve got Linux Mint 19.2 on my desktop. Do I need to do anything for when my Librem 5 comes?
I’d say depends on the desktop environment (maybe???). KDE has KDE connect baked in, it’s an app for specifically managing a mobile device.
I’ve been doing the same. Working on getting my self-hosted Nextcloud instance fully operational with backups and file, calendar, and contact syncing. Hope to finish things this coming weekend.
Not doing anything special here. I want to check a few things on the Librem before I start trying to sync everything to it. Since I’ve been using iPhones for the last several years, I don’t think there’s a way to sync anything anyway.
You can download all your contacts in a vCard format and import them into Linux contact manager.
I’ll be going from Linux desktop to Linux phone and back. I’m not to worried as i have a friend who is quite the Linux guy to go to. Getting connected to AT&T my provider is my 1st priority but that should be okay too.
Other than syncing contacts and doing email I’m not loading pic’s on the Librem 5 .
I’m going to use it on Wi-Fi till I get it figured out and then switch it over to AT&T for my everyday phone.
