Is there any lightwight image viewer which can be launched from the shell?
As GNOME Image Viewer
already installed:
cd Image-Folder
ls -l
eog Image-2022.jpg
eog --help
Other packages to be tested: https://blends.debian.org/imaging/tasks/imageviewer.

eog
(Eye of Gnome) seems to be the go-to image viewer in Debian-family environments. That is lightweight in terms of functionality.
I haven’t tried the following on the Librem 5 but the imagemagick
package gives you the display
command, which may be even more lightweight in terms of functionality.
Of course the total resources used by any image viewer depend on the resolution of the image. From that perspective, the imagemagick
package also gives you the mogrify
and convert
commands, which can scale an image down to a lower resolution.
