Are all the Firmware in Librem 15 Open Source?

Hello,
I am looking to repace my current PC with Librem 15, But I have some doubts.

  1. Are all the Firmware in Librem 15 Open Source? Including SSD, Wifi, Webcam, CPU, Display & Other Components? Means 0 Proprietery Code.

  2. If not then Which Proprietary Firmware are Installed?

  3. Also, How can Librem 15 uses coreboot if coreboot says it doesn’t support latest Intel Processors?

  4. And Does Librem 15 uses Legacy BIOS or UEFI?

  5. What will be new in Librem 15 v5, Like Which CPU & Any new features?

Thanks.

If “latent” is meant to be “latest” then this isn’t a problem because the Librem 13 and 15 both have the i7-7500U, which is sufficiently “not latest”.

I think you can assume that if a hypothetical future revision of the Librem laptop(s) had a later CPU and that later CPU required changes for support in Coreboot then a) that support would be added to Coreboot and b) the laptop would come with the updated version of Coreboot.

BIOS. However work is reportedly underway for supporting UEFI.

if a v5 comes out it would be most likely later in q4 - but i doubt that since they are pretty busy with the L5 and quite late on the schedule … china-quarantine and all that …

i would however like to know if ordering the 2k$ version L5 made in USA would speed things up for evergreen or that’s only for Fir and later versions ?
