Bill C-2 ("Strong Borders Act") will make Canadians' data available to U.S. government

As a US citizen, I feel pretty confident that my government would’ve been doing mass surveillance on the population of Canada already regardless of whether they legalized it.

Still a difference if they get data for free or if they have to steal them.

I don’t understand this move…weren’t Canadians fed up with the U.S. and the current Administration?
The governement acting against the will of its own citizens?
After all, there was this recent poll which revealed that a slight majority of people would like Canada to join the UE!
As a French philosopher put it:

Nowadays the geography of values is more important than the value of geography

No government has ever acted against the will of it’s own citizens. I should know. I’m an United Statesian.
