Hi guys,
Black background screen issues are still a challenge for some Librem 5 users, but the device is gradually becoming more stable as updates roll out. However, it’s still not fully polished and might not be ready as a mainstream alternative for everyone just yet. The Librem 5 is great for those prioritizing privacy, but its app support and performance are still catching up. If you’re looking for a device for daily use, it might be a bit too early, but it’s improving with each update. The black screen issue should be resolved soon as the software matures.I’m facing a problem with a black background screen on my Librem 5, where it stays blank after powering on. If anyone facing same issuse share your opinions here .
Thank you
I think you need to append this issue a bit. At least I’m not identifying what’s the issue. What’s black that’s not supposed to be, or, what’s not black that’s supposed to be? What else should it be? And when specifically is this happening (as “after” is a long time)?
Can you possibly provide some pics?
Is this Qubes related (why that tag)?
Funny thing about black backgrounds, there is always still a hidden glow.
Not with OLED displays.
I did not have this for some month. A kernel update was fixing it for me on PureOS. Do you have an up-to-date kernel?
Okay half true … on Mobian (other device) I was running in such an issue today when restarting Phosh via command line.
@j_s: Did they change the used screen on L5?
My comment was regarding displays in general. I am not aware of any L5 hardware change.
Hi,
Thanks for the rply It’s good to hear that the Librem 5 is improving with each update, and that the black screen issue may eventually be resolved. I will keep an eye out for software updates and hope the issue gets fixed soon. If anyone else has faced this issue and found a workaround or fix, please let me know. Appreciate the help!
I still don’t know what this is…
