For some time now, outgoing calls have closed immediately after they start.
The situation remain the same also after the last update to Crimson.
ingoing calls work but not outgoing.
Any suggestion?
Do you remember how your calls were being connected (3G, 4G) and if VoLTE was enabled? Maybe your carrier has ended support for something. Also check if mobile data is enabled for VoLTE to work correctly.

VoLTE: I suppose always OFF. Being electrosensitive, I activate the data connection only when I have to use the internet. Where/how can I check it?
I would think that if calls are ever connected 4G then VoLTE must be ON.
If not already installed
sudo apt install bm818-tools
then run that tool then look at the checkbox for VoLTE.
My understanding is that mobile data is not relevant. VoLTE is not VoIP even though there may be similarities.
I always have to have data on to make VoLTE calls. It might just be my phone configuration though

Supposing that is related to VoLTE, how can it be explained that till some weeks/maybe months ago (I use Librem5 for calls rarely due to battery limits), it was possible to do call without problem and now only outcall are working properly?
bm818-tools installed (thank you for the instruction).
Opening it, it shows Volte enable. Tried to call and the result is the same. The call starts and is been immediately terminated.
It seems that VoLTE is not related to this issue
Do you have access to your carrier’s web-portal? Sometimes settings in there can foul you up
You could try disabling it, rebooting, and then enabling it, and rebooting again.
Could you confirm whether or not having mobile data on makes a difference?
Are you sure that the call is terminated, and not just silent? I’m asking because for me all of a sudden I sometimes hear no ringing on my end when placing an outbound call. I can confirm that with or without data nothing change

The calls are terminated immediately. I checked it several times. The message is shown on the display (‘Chiamata Terminata’). No misunderstanding. Looking at the call history it confirms that the last out calls done was in december 2025. I didn’t use it for some months to do calls but only to update the OS through a cable connection. Then, some days ago, I realized that only in-going calls are working. SMS work in and out.
I logged in also on my carrier’s account and there was nothing blocked or limited. In the meantime I spoke to customer service who couldn’t find anything wrong with the settings
Hi problems solved. After have disabled the VoLTE and reboot twice, I was able to o out-going calls again. So despite the data connection was always OFF, the VolLTE selection was enough to not allow the out-going calls.
