Can't Install Security Patch

On my desktop running PureOS, I receive a error when installing a program that “addresses an encrypted keystroke injection vulnerability sent by pointing devices.”

Steps to arrive t that:

  1. Open "Activity" list.
  2. Click on "Software"
  3. At the top right, click on "Updates [#]"
I get the following error:

It shows it is installing, but I let it sit there for 10 minutes, then rebooted and went to Step #1 and it repeated the error.

While my mouse is not on the list, it might be after the Christmas Season.

Update using the Terminal instead:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Thank you. I’d like some icon to work instead learning new Code.
Before another update causes more problems, I’d like to be able to use Contacts again (I opened new topic for that). It seems like this things usability degrades day by day and doesn’t even need my help to do so
Once Contacts and Chat are working again I can use your Code :grimacing:

I would guess that this only applies to a wireless mouse but maybe that’s what Santa is giving you.

Is that a hint that you’re going to buy me wireless mice? Great! I would like 4 Logitech M510 wireless mice.

I hope you received the case of wine I sent to your office and that no one mistook it for theirs, or a porch pirate didn’t snatch it up, or carrier didn’t loose it.

Happy a great shopping-scam week,
