Can't install updates to apps from software icon Librem15v4

Pure os10 byzantium

Pop Up message reads:

Unable to download updates:

The following packages have unmet dependencies: (too many to list)

I read the similar posts and tried the sudo apt update… but chickened out when it wanted to reinstall everything I had problems with. Need Help that’s not so invasive.

Thanks

I wouldn’t worry. It knows what it’s doing, especially if you’re just checking for updates and then applying them.

If you’re unsure, run sudo apt update and then post a screenshot (or copy and paste the text, preferably) of the output here, so it can be examined.

NOTE: I don’t want to reinstall Brave Browser because it doesn’t work correctly.

Thanks

OK, that looks fine except for the references to Brave.

I would continue with sudo apt upgrade, then when that is finished, sudo apt purge brave-browser.

By the way, 554 is quite a large number of updates. Has the device been unused for a while?

I sent a reply to your question from a mobile device but it’s not on this laptop. I had an issue with the laptop and brave browser a few months ago and bought a flash drive from purism and reinstalled the pure os after the laptop sit up for a while. I’ll try what you suggested: sudo apt upgrade and see if that works. Then purge Brave.

thanks

I went to gnome software and tried to update. It didn’t work. maybe I need to reinstall the OS again?
