I’m getting an ‘expired application’ error in Signal messaging app (it won’t run until I update). When I follow the instructions at Signal >> Download Signal for Debian it has worked in the past. Now it gives this error:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
signal-desktop : Depends: libc6 (>= 2.31) but 2.28-10+deb10u2 is to be installed
It looks like PureOS is downlevel on libc6. Does anyone know if that it scheduled to be updated?
Thanks
Tom

I don’t know this for certain, but I’m afraid the answer might be that we will have this problem until PureOS Crimson is released.
It is mentioned here, but without any specific planned release date:
I didn’t know that it was possible to run Signal Desktop from a deb. I was using a flatpak for it. But if I remember correctly, the person maintaining it said they wanted to stop.
Plus Signal desktop has a CPU bug that pegs the system if a contact discussion is open. You have to use Ctrl + Shift + C to exit all discussions. This will prevent the client from wasting CPU cycles.
