Does anyone know Cape? It claims to be a private cell service.

So even if it is trustworthy (which I don’t belief), it is a great job to create a danger and its solution in the same company. Just like “hey, here we have nice cigarettes and if you get cancer by our product, here is also the new medical therapy”.
So a honeypot. The interesting thing is that they push GrapheneOS
Possibly. But then the owners did have the sense to leave Palantir and Anduril. Maybe they wanted to rebel, and offer an antidote to those companies’ business models. Maybe they were simply motivated by a quest for wealth. Maybe they have ulterior motives. There’s not enough information for us to know.
They certainly raised a lot of venture capital investment. And they’re headquartered in the D.C. area.
Lol.
[ EDIT: A little light reading: Palantir | The Guardian ]
I would not even work for Palantir in first place. So that person does not seem to have a problem with those technologies. I mean, sure, people can learn, change their minds, change their business, but that looks more like “I probably can do more money using another approach”. Just look at the amount of money involved. Those people I cannot trust.
To be fair, Wikipedia says that Palantir has 4429 employees (2025 number) … so it is not as if every low-ranked employee would have a full understanding of what the technology can do, how it is being used, what direction it is going in, … I guess that falls into the category of “people can learn”.
People who have this amount of money and skill do not know about tech?? It looks more like a person pretty high in hierarchy where money matters. But of course, just speculation.
In case I want to protect myself, I am better more carefully than less about who I should trust.
I think you are correct in this case. I was just responding to the more general comment that I quoted. If I were an employee of a company of that size (or bigger), I would not be high-ranked, up where money matters. I would be in my own little corner of the universe working on whatever project I am working on.
