Just for example: “Stratasys the F190CR retails for $45,000 and slightly larger F370CR is $75,000.”
Could you please publish a md5 hash for your file. Thanks
Right: MD5 hash of Evergreen_new_case_1.1.stl:

@those-who-have-actually-had-this-printed… What % infill did you use?
No replies? No problem, I have a sense of adventure.
I have a clear TPU case for my Pinephone, which I like very much. Since I bought it from the Pine Store, there was no option for percent in-fill, which appears to be 100%. I considered that something less than 100% might provide some cushioning in case of a drop, but that too little in-fill would not provide enough structure.
I had the case printed makexyz.com for $22. The configurator allowed me to play with the in-fill and I discovered that above 45%, the price went up… to over $100 at 100% in-fill. I settled for 45%. The case arrived in less than 1 week.
I got my notification email yesterday, so I’ll see how well I like the case (and L5!) soon.
Not that it matters that much, but I should tell people I did the same thing and the case came back great - except the material was too thick. (I used a different printer). I could not bend it at all. I tried squeezing the phone in, scratched the phone good and cracked the new case beyond the point of repair.
Lesson learned: make sure that the product the printer uses is flexible enough to fit the phone AND protect it.
I hope that your adventure proves better than mine.
Damn, that’s some tough luck. Mine is very flexible and fits pretty well… a bit loose at the sides midway down.
I was a bit surprised that the layering was so visible using transparent TPU. I guess I was expecting the same look (very transparent) as the case I bought from Pine64 for my Pinephone, but that one was probably injection molded, not printed.
I might have another made in black, maybe with an additional mm raised around the screen.
Yep. Kind of frustrating. I did try again using your printer. I will report my results when I get next week. Should be interesting.
If you are experimenting with different materials, beware to select a suitable Shore value (Case for Librem 5? - for instance @prog-amateur used 88). It would be of interest what were the specific material characteristics you used and how those feel (usability and protectiveness).
While I wait for my L5 to arrive I will try to 3D print the case. I have two flexible filaments at hand, one with shore 91A, the other with 98A. I will go with the more flexible 91A first, and report back.
I have printed @fiacco 's version of the case with Fiberflex 40D flexible material with the following parameters:
Layer height: 0.20mm
Supports: Yes
Perimeters: 4
Infill: 20%
Infill doesn’t really matter, because the case is quite thin and everything turns out to be part of the perimeters ( = 100% infill ). The case printed quite well, it fits the phone and doesn’t add too much bulk. The material is quite flexible and it feels like it would offer some protection but definitely wouldn’t save the phone from a table-height drop onto a hard surface. I might be wrong, but will not test it with my L5
@fiacco could you please add the (opens)cad model to one of the gitlab repositories?
Yes, I do agree warmly with your recommendation:
I’d like to, I registered to Purism Git Repo but it seems it’s a sort of private club, my account is still pending approval and cannot access. Anyway someone here published the file on his private webspace
I could do so, send it to me by PM and publish here the md5 hash. I will publish its URL.
This was my webspace. If there is an update I’ll be happy to upload it too.
I think only the STL file was shared. In order to modify the model the SCAD or equivalent cad file would be much more useful @fiacco
