chatty deleting texts

So far this is only happening with one person I text but it is the person I text the most. I had sent them a photo, and what’s been happening is after sending some texts in a back and forth conversation, if I leave chat and come back my side of the conversation is deleted and that picture I sent a while back shows up as the last sent thing. I sent another photo the other day to test and now both photos show up in place of my texts. If I send long texts those don’t get deleted but it will show older texts from the other person after my texts and then those photos. If its brief texts I sent they will be deleted.

I deleted the conversation with this person and started it again and its still doing it. Any ideas? I have not sent photos to anyone else so it might be some photo glitch as its only happening to the person I sent photos too.

Check if there is another message thread containing the missing messages.

For me it seems to behave like that, when MMS messages have been sent, that there are then two separate conversations like this:

  • one conversation with just the text messages between me and the other person
  • another conversation between “MMS me” and the other person, or between me and the “MMS identity” of the pther person, something like that

It’s like the sender/receiver identity looks different to chatty when MMS messages are involved.

it happens on both mms and conversations that never sent a photo and didnt do mms. no mms conversations showing up elsewhere.

it will delete texts sometimes that are small. if i sent big ones it will save them but change the order and put them behind older texts the other person sent. usually ill reply to texts and if i sent a longer one that one will show up as sent before the ones i replied too.

another thing it doesnt show the time i received a text just a date. it shows the time for texts i sent. if i missed a text id like to know how long ago it was sent.

dont know how to fix either issue.
