It looks like byzantium is still using 0.7.3. It also looks like it tracks the Chatty hosted by purism, instead of the upstream one hosted by gnome. Is there a reason why, at the very least, purism hasn’t pulled down the changes from upstream in about a year and a half?

They are probably tracking the associated Debian release. Whether Purism has to include any source changes of its own with the upstream version, I don’t know.

Looks like it might be a dependency issue. When I try to build the latest Chatty from source on my Librem5 it errors because the version of libadawaita is too old (Needs >=1.5 but only 1.2 is in Byzintium.

I applied the backports, great work from Galilley. But the tradeoff is the chatty is much more laggy than the original one. The latest chatty is also slower on the pmos too, it seems it chatty’s own problem.
