Configuring Logitech Marble Mouse to work with Gnome Wayland

Been scouring the web to figure out how to configure my Logitech Marble Mouse buttons to work with Gnome Wayland. Found this linux uprising article recommending the input-remapper utility.

You could try Piper (https://github.com/libratbag/piper). You can customize what keystrokes each button sends with it.

I didn’t know marble mice are still available. I’d love to have one, but I don’t want to buy any mouse that doesn’t have a proper middle button.

Ploopy (https://ploopy.co/) offers open source (firmware licensed under GPLv3) and open hardware (designs licensed under some form of OHL CERN) mice, including a variety of trackball mice. They should have scroll wheel buttons available.

Reddit thread from a couple years ago says they have been discontinued, so might be a good idea to snap up a spare or two some place like Ebay. Looks like they’re currently selling for $20-30.
