Connect air tube headphones to Librem 5

Hi to All :blush::waving_hand:

Please I need help/info: I bought air tube headphones with usb type-c connection and I also bought type-c → jack adapter to use it with Librem 5 throw jack connection. Unfortunately it doesn’t works :worried:

I did test:

  1. play music using invidious/yewtu.be using L5 speakers. It worked! I listened music

  2. then I connected air tube headphones using type-c and music continued exiting from L5 speakers instead switching into headphones

  3. then I connected type-c → jack adapter to headphones and I connected it to L5. Music paused. When I tap play, no music at all: no into headphones neither from L5 speakers!

Maybe I should buy analogic/digital adapter to connect headphones+jack → A/D-adapter → L5?

Thank you :folded_hands:

Have you successfully used the headphones on another device?

Also, when plugging in the headphones into the Librem 5 using the USB-C port, have you looked into settings→sound, and see it as an output you can change to?

Thank you for your suggestion!

First tested it on my old Android (it has jack too!):

  1. yes when connected on usb type-c

  2. no using jack

On L5:

  1. usb it works just on settings audio testing it (front left and front right). Also micro is working! L5 automatically recognises headphones connected but when I opened Firefox on yewtu.be and tested a song and also downloaded .mp3 and opened it with default L5 app for music, sound exits from L5 speakers as I don’t have headphones connected! I looked for Firefox settings audio without success. So it works only into settings → test

  2. when connected by jack using adaptor same as android: nothing (neither from speakers)

That makes me crazy :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Hmm, I wonder why only only the system settings test is working.

In the notifications area there is also the ability to see what the sound output is, and show a list of options to change it.

When you are playing a song or watching a video on yewtu.be, does it show you are using your headphones when the sound is coming out of your speaker?

In the same menu you can also try and select the speakers, and then select your headphones and repeat to see if it fixes a glitch.
