Crimson backports unofficial

OK, thanks to all support here, I managed to install the Crimson backports on the latest Crimson LUKS-image.

I could even build and install the geoclue-stumbler app. I’m still a bit experimenting with that.

Also I installed Satellite 0.9.0.

On first sight all works pretty well.

Today I noticed that I have no sound output and input devices. I do not know if this has been an issue since the fresh install. Only today I wanted to listen to the radio via Shortwave.

I would expect that sound would work, as this issue is closed.

I can confirm this. Hadn’t done anything with this needing sound. No audio devices, again.

Do the previous solution and that will solve the problem (just use reinstall, not re-install like I had written the command in the comment).

Thanks, I confirm this brought back the sound output and input devices.

Unfortunately the sound adjustments do not survive a reboot of my Librem 5.

In fact you should try this solution…

This works! Maybe this should be added to this README.

Phosh 0.49 is here!

Stevia should be installed manually, xdg-desktop-portal-phosh 0.49 will be later as soon as it appears in debian repo.

Dear galilley you are a incredible programmer, same like dos.

Not so incredible as dos, he is really strong!

By the way, @dos, when we could expect 10-bit images from the main camera and enabled by default DMABUF in the kernel? :innocent:

Dear @galilley are you a Saint-Petersburg GnuLinux hacker? I am just curious.

There’s already an MR with it open.

We’ve been using dmabufs since 2018. I assume you mean dmabuf heaps/udmabuf? They’re not needed for GPU processing; libcamera uses them for its CPU ISP implementation, which isn’t very efficient. Feel free to send an MR though, I’m just doing other things than libcamera enablement in PureOS at the moment.

gnome-clocks 48.0 phosh edition (wakeup from suspend should work). For the details please follow the discussion here.

gnome-decoder 0.8.0 and gnome-authenticator 4.6.2-7
Both apps use updated rust-aperture 0.11 that allows them to scan e.g. QR-codes produced by Google Authenticator (fancy codes generated by telegram still do not recognized). So, I was able to move some codes to my L5 and I have one less reason to keep my backup android phone switched on.

Also I rebuild the kernel image and millipixels which now used updated cam api implemented by @dos. The photos look awesome!

Did you miss me? Phosh 0.50.0 is here!

Too many dependencies this time, so, be sure that you make backups and/or your second boot OS operates well.

Note: Epiphany looks broken, I have no idea how to debug or fix it, just wait GLES3…

Hello. First of all, I updated and got almost everythign working. I am very happy. Thank you so much for providing this.

However, I do have a small problem. Squeekboard (or perhaps the keyboard) simply will not load. I could only figure-out how to make it work by SSH’ing into the Librem 5 and starting squeekboard that way.

I imagine the change in the keyboard to start the LUKS encryption changed the keyboard behavior. Either way, I cannot get the keyboard to come up now without using the above-method. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi! Nice to hear!

I’m using Stevia and have not checked squeekboard for a long time… So, please check that appropriate packet has been installed:

$ LANG=en apt list | grep stevia

phosh-osk-stevia/unknown,now 0.50.1-1 arm64 [installed]

Next you can change the keyboard:

$ update-alternatives --config Phosh-OSK

No, there are two different keyboard. Locks like there is real problem with squeekboard, I will check…
