Seams after many hrs I have not been able to get on line to anyplace I see “could not resolve ‘ repo. PureOS settings.
You’ll probably need to provide more detail. ![]()
Ok I’m screwed. My machine boots like normal this morning I tried to Pat mullvad vpn that seamed to go through fine. Shut down. Later opened up pureOS no going on line ? Tried rebooting now all kings of no internet . Network setting changed , Librewolf changed it try to go to purism says no correct network setting correct. Uninstalled Librem wolf no problem. Now network settings wrong. I can’t go anywhere or help myself. I’m using my iphone to be at purism to read yet things are not working even have ppureOs on usb don’t know how to make them work : yrs of work down the drain. I’m so tired due to the chemotherapy I’m going through. I feel like hiding in my bed. I’m not that great with Linux and I’m lost right now .
Which is? Librem 5? Librem 14? Something else Librem? Something else not Librem?
The thing with network problems is to be systematic and work your way up from the bottom of the network stack to the top.
So: is the machine connecting to the local network via WiFi or ethernet?
The other thing about any troubleshooting is fault isolation. So if your iPhone is on the same local network as the machine that is not working then you would tentatively conclude that your WiFi is working and your local internet connection is working (so those two are not the problem).
The web browser itself is unlikely to cause a network problem. So I wouldn’t worry about the web browser at this stage. Too much at the lower levels needs to be working before it is worth worrying about a web browser.
And to be honest, balky technology may not be your highest priority right now. Prioritise yourself and your health. So feel free to ignore the above suggest troubleshooting.
I have a mini v2 . Connected by Ethernet hard wired just a few minutes ago had my internet service here they found and repaired connection outside. I’ve got my network connected my ip address yet I uninstalled Librewolf yesterday. Now I can’t get it installed. I’ve used the USB I purchased from Purism yet with no browser or way to get Librewolf from the repository which I can not remember how to get there . I’ve tried to sudo apt update I get return of can’t connect to Pursim failed to find. I’ve tried sudo apt update && sudo apt full - upgrade returns can’t find or failed 17 files.
It’s still not clear what’s happening from that but one classic reason the repo doesn’t connect is that your clock is set to wrong time.
According to the LibreWolf installation instructions for Debian-based systems, execute these commands in the Terminal (one at a time):
sudo apt update && sudo apt install extrepo -y
sudo extrepo enable librewolf && sudo extrepo update librewolf
sudo apt update && sudo apt install librewolf -y
It’s set March 21 time is 11:57 for central New York State . Not due to clock or date issue
I tried each one separately all the same thing failed to fetch https://repo.pureOS.net/ blah blah blah not a one worked
LibreWolf doesn’t come from the PureOS repo, it comes from the LibreWolf repo. So even if you’re not connecting to PureOS, the download from LibreWolf should have worked (if you have internet).
Check to see if LibreWolf has actually been installed, but you just didn’t realize it.
If it’s not there, execute the commands again, and post a screenshot here of the results shown in the Terminal.
Also, if your VPN has a killswitch engaged, disengage it. (A VPN killswitch cuts the internet in case the VPN disconnects unexpectedly.)
Another thing you can try is to restart both your internet modem and your router.
You sound like you know a lot more that I do. Question: my son helped me set this machine up every bit of it. I have been disowned by him . No phone , no email.
At first he set me to flat hub do you know the sequence to get flat hub, flatpak
Done the router modem with the serviceman from the company a few hrs ago
Once you have a working browser, get flathub from here:
https://flathub.org/en/setup/PureOS
Flatpak apps can be found here:
https://flathub.org/en
By the way, do you have any other browsers besides LibreWolf installed?
The issue was the vpn being off the kill switch. So I must use a browser to get to the first part you sent me and not the terminal ?
Tells me Librewolf has changed its address.
My son in Oregon and I here in Ny used terminal to get flathub not a browser
The terminal commands can be found here: https://flathub.org/en/setup/Debian
In Step 2, I assume you want the GNOME version (unless you’ve changed your desktop environment to KDE instead).
If you prefer LibreWolf as a flatpak, then the command flatpak install librewolf should get you there.
(After you’ve installed flathub.)
Flatpak does NOT have Librewolf it takes ya to get it ? I’m not looking for a 30 day use . I have internet use out of pureOS . I’m tired right now I need some rest. I thank you vey much about the kill switch that was the whole issue point today.
I’m given up I’m done now for sale
