Deleting Librem key & changing OS

Hello, I want to move to Linux Mint. Do I need to disable the Librem key for my Librem 15" & how do I do this?
Any other advice re how to change over to Mint would be very welcome.

Many thanks

I think you need to change the boot firmware from Pureboot to SeaBIOS - and then just stop using the Librem Key. (No need to do anything to the Librem Key itself.)

Given that you are changing two things, I would change them separately, one after the other, so that if something isn’t working correctly, you know which change introduced the problem. Probably change the boot firmware first.

Just don’t install grub bootloader onto EFI system partition which doesn’t exist with pureboot.

Pureboot parses grub.cfg to get a list of linux kernel images with initrd. Make sure /boot is either ext4 or fat32.

@irvinewade is correct. Assuming you are already using PureBoot, you can use these instructions to change to Coreboot/SeaBIOS:
