I stopped using the Librem 5 for a while, and I’ve recently taken it up again. I greatly appreciate seeing the progress, with several features implemented or improved since I used it last.
Also, using the Librem 5 again has reminded me of the vast superiority of the Librem 5 over other phones on the market, that is, over iPhone and Android phones. The level of freedom I have to make the phone fit my life and to limit its intrusiveness is on a level that is unimaginable with other phones.
I am currently using postmarketOS, because some software is newer and I’ve been able to get some things to work on it, but other things, which work on Byzantium, still do not work on postmarketOS after all this time. The Librem 5 does not seem to be a focus of postmarketOS, which is fine. They have their own goal of helping people run refurbished phones, not a currently-in-production phone like the Librem 5. The bottom line is that Purism is the team which has put the time in to test the Librem 5 and attempt to verify that features are working. Donating money to them to improve Librem 5 software is a good investment for me, because I directly benefit from the freedom I gain using the Librem 5.
Here’s the problem: I can’t figure out how to increase my subscription/donation amount to PureOS. There is no way to select a custom amount that I could find, and increasing the “quantity” in the checkout cart is disabled. Can Purism please enable donating significantly more money to PureOS?
