Flatpaks and AppImages

The news: https://puri.sm/posts/introducing-flatpaks-on-pureos/

I wonder, why not to support AppImages? There is nice AppImage command line manager ZAP with centralized repository. PureOS could directly support decentralized AppImage repository such as Github platform and we could get AppImages as distributed by authors on Github.

About AppImages:

Linux apps that run anywhere
“As a user, I want to download an application from the original author, and run it on my Linux desktop system just like I would do with a Windows or Mac application.”
“As an application author, I want to provide packages for Linux desktop systems, without the need to get it ‘into’ a distribution and without having to build for gazillions of different distributions.”

Flatpak it more dedicated to Librem 5 with Posh than Appimage, Flatpak will good for just testing newer Application to prevent break libs.
Yeah will cool too if programmer will wrapper posh Application by Appimage.
Appimage support for L5 make more sense to third party Application, not really for core apps.
I prefer Appimage that Flatpak as i not fans of Gnome but Phosh.
