Freedom and privacy in digital cars

German article about Linux in cars (Automotive Grade Linux).

Not sure how much freedom and privacy is in that article, but AGL is at least open source. The Japanese car companies are more invested in AGL. The western companies are still clinging to AUTOSAR, hoping to provide interoperability via standards to drive competition among parts suppliers and increase profits. The reality (at least 7 years ago) was that most were still sticking to their same parts suppliers. Mostly due to the incestuous relationships that were already firmly established.
