Full disk encription on nvme issue

Hey there,
I just received my librem 15 v3 and I was trying to create a luks FDE using the pure os 8 live cd.
After manually partitioning the nvme drive I get an error.
I googled it a bit and found it is a bug in kpmcore:

It supposed to be fixed in kpmcore 3.1.0
Is there a way I can work around it in the installer?

I have tried installing directly on boot selecting the install option and I get a message that no kernel modules found.
I tried installing from a debian streach net install image and there are no kernel modules issue.

Can anyone advice on the matter?
