Hello,
I trying now to set up the Librem14 Laptop with the LibremKey for a while now but always running in some issues. I reinstall the OS like 10 times now but running every time in some issues.
Issues like after successfully run the script for typing in the Key pin instead of the LUKS passphrase but after trying to change the LUKS passphrase or the key pin nothing works anymore and i must bypass the normal boot option to access into the system and only to fix the problem with reinstall the whole system.
I am no professional only a little bit of experience with Linux OS and so I missing some good documentation about the OS and the Key.
But my question is if somebody had the same problems and was able to solve it or did someone know if there are good docs and I was only to stupid to find it. Maybe someone can give me some tips or know where to find some repository’s witch makes my live easier.
The biggest problem i have is that i am doing this for a other person so in the end I want and he expects that operating with the system like changing the password should be easy or having for common task some clear instructions from me how to do it without running in errors or reinstall the OS.
Thanks for the help in advance!
The script to change the pins does not work and has never worked or been fixed. You have to redo the setup from scratch to get the default pins back.
My opinion is to just drop the whole key thing. It doesn’t protect the laptop, nor does it know the difference between a system update and a hack.

So if I understand you right you mean that the LibremKey should only used as an indication for unwanted changes on the system. For unlocking the drive that is locked with LUKS I should use the
LUKS passphrase and not doing that with the LibremKey and the same counts for the user login.
The funny thing is that the owner of the Laptop told me that everything worked when he revived the Laptop with the LibremKey but after turning the Laptop on for one time without the LibremKey the System broke and he must start using the LUKS passphrase and was not able to change it back for using the LibremKey to unlock the disk.
