Gnome calendar reminder sounds

Hello! I’m using pureOS bizantium in the Librem 5 and I realized that Gnome calendar does show a led and visual reminder notification but not sounds.
Is this supposed to work?
I think in mobian it was working but maybe it does not work on pureOS.
Is someone able to hear reminder sounds from pureos gnome calendar?

Thank you!

I haven’t used that or checked, but first take a quick look at that sounds are enabled and that they are set to full:

  • Settings → Sound settings: there should be a separate setting for system sounds/notifications
  • Mobile Settings app → Feedback: Per Application settings (you should see calendar there)

Thank you @JR-Fi! Calendar is not listed in Per Application settings. But the other config seems good. And I receive chatty sound notifications without problems.

Interesting. You could install pavucontrol (shows a few more settings for sound, runs from terminal) just to see if that recognizes calendar (sounds may be in some odd cases piped to wrong output, like modem) but beyond that, I’m not sure how to approach this. Maybe the calendar app is not putting the notifications in such format that the system understands to receive them. You may have dig a bit deeper into the app to see how it’s done and possibly check if this is similar to other apps. That would probably make this something related to phosh and how it handles notifications. Let’s see if anyone else has other good ideas…
