Since I started going back to work after the COVID restrictions since a couple of months ago, I’ve biked to work while listening to music from the headphone jack on my Librem 5. The first week I was kind of annoyed at that one channel of my headphones stopped playing often for a few seconds due to the jack getting a slight tension when pedalling on my bike while in my pocket on my pants, so after I realized that after a couple of days I’ve had the phone in the pocket of my jacket instead which moves less which solved the issue (as long as it’s not summer when I don’t want to wear a jacket at least, then I’m probably going to get annoyed at it again…). On my past 2 smartphones I’ve had, in the worst case the headphone jack didn’t get issues like this until at least 2 years, so it’s a shame that it seems damaged after such a short time.
Regardless, this “workaround” has worked for a couple of months now but stopped working recently because now instead of one channel being quiet for a second or two the music stops playing completely which is very annoying. I have to stop and press play again on my music 3-5 times during the 15min bike ride I have to work. I think this can be tracked down to the latest phosh update which mentions the following:
- Music player is paused when headphones get unplugged (Guido Günther)
So I guess that my question is, is there some easy way to turn this feature off?
